Dr. Greiche Group, a Leader in the Glass Industry, Announces Strategic Merger with High Glass
Dr. Greiche, a leading name in the glass industry renowned for its commitment to the highest quality standards, has announced a strategic partnership through a merger deal with High Glass. This partnership aims to bolster growth opportunities both locally and globally.
Eng. Chahir Grieche , CEO of Dr. Greiche Group, highlighted the significance of this strategic step, stating: “With this merger with High Glass, we aim to increase production by a substantial amount, reaching an additional 150,000 square meters per year. This also includes expanding our workforce with 100 additional skilled workers.”
In emphasizing the importance of the merger, Eng. Chahir Grieche pointed out the valuable addition of High Glass products to Dr. Greiche’s diverse product line, which includes rear and side automotive glass and sunroof windows, as well as high-tech products like heat-insulating and soundproof glass.
This collaboration seeks to enhance product quality by leveraging Dr. Greiche Group’s advanced technology and extensive expertise, while benefiting from a shared, broad customer base to offer a wider and more diverse range of services and solutions.
Commenting on the deal, Heba Saqr, CEO of High Glass, expressed her enthusiasm for the merger with the region’s premier glass manufacturer, saying: “I am confident that, under Dr. Greiche’s leadership and with their experience and technology supporting our production lines, we will create many opportunities for our products to expand and reach global markets and automotive manufacturers worldwide.”
Eng. Chahir Grieche also highlighted the importance of the glass industry and Egypt’s glass exports, which increased to USD 608.57 million in 2023. This positions the industry as a vital partner in local economic growth and a key source of foreign currency reserves, underscoring the industry’s potential to positively impact local economic growth, as reported by the United Nations COMTRADE Database on international trade.
High Glass, with ten years of experience, has excelled in manufacturing automotive glass and facades to international standards. It has also earned the international IATF certification, affirming the company’s commitment to global quality standards and excellence through advanced technology.
Notably, Dr. Magdy Grieche , the visionary founder of Dr. Greiche, established the company’s first glass factory in 1985. Over the past three years, the company has achieved impressive sales growth, with increases of 30%, 29%, and 15% in 2021, 2022, and 2023, respectively, demonstrating significant growth.
Dr. Greiche exports to over 40 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, North America, and South America, with exports comprising an average of 30% of its total production.
The company is working to expand exports by entering new markets, with automotive glass representing approximately 50% of its total sales. It operates at a monthly capacity of 150,000 square meters of automotive glass, producing around 5,000 different types of automotive glass.
Aligned with the state’s strategy to localize the automotive industry, Dr. Greiche has taken proactive measures to meet future industry demands, including this announced merger.
Driven by its focus on strategic local expansion, Dr. Greiche operates 86 distribution and installation centers and holds an 80% share in the after-sales services market through its franchise network.
Dr. Greiche also provides employment opportunities for approximately 1,750 employees. The company has established state-of-the-art factories equipped with modern production technologies and quality control systems to meet the evolving industry demands, with ambitious plans for further expansion.
